Thailand with kids: from the cold Netherlands to warm and sunny Thailand, I love it!! Our hotel room is perfect. We have a separate bedroom, seating area, fully equiped kitchen and dining area. After unpacking our luggage we are really looking forward to a refreshing dive in the roof top pool. The pool has a stunning view over Bangkok, which we enjoy while floating around. Lotte in her baby floater, Floris is his life jacket. After our refreshing dive we go for some grocery shopping.
Lotte sits in the stroller, Floris is a little tired, he can relax in the baby carrier. Unfortunately, when we arrive in the mall, Floris appears not only to be tired, but sick as well. Right before the Starbucks he vomits… Over himself, Kevin and the floor, kids vomitting while in a baby carrier can make quite as mess. Kev goes home to clean himself and Floris up. I will hit the grocery store with Lotte. I am happily surprised to see they have everything: fresh fruits, veggies, baby milk, baby food, diapers, wet towels, you name it, they have it! Floris stays a little ill. As he vomits and has a slight fever we give him ORS, to be sure he doesnt dehydrate.
During the day we mostly relax at the hotel with the sick little man, when the evening comes and temperatures drop we take a tuktuk to Lumpini Park. When Floris sees the big pond and playgrounds he forgets he was ill. After 2 ours of climbing, sliding, rocking and running, we take the tuktuk back to the hotel. Floris loves the tuktuk until the driver appears to have a strong need to test his maximum speed, resulting in us racing down the Bangkok streets at almost 85 km/hr.
The kids go to their beds quite early, luckily they dont experience much inconvience from the jetlag. We decide to get some really good Thai food across the street and enjoy it from our balcony with a little Chang beer on the side, watching the busy Bangkok streets at night.
As we have a big trip ahead of us we will have to do some planning tommorrow; book hotels and buy train tickets.
Love it so far: Thailand with kids!
