TOP 5 child apps for on holiday! Long flights or drives are a piece of cake…

OMG we’re flying for 18 hours with the kids within a couple of weeks… How are we going to cope?! Frightful images of screaming kids strapped into a chair flash before my eyes. Sounds familiar? Are you dreading the thought of long flights or rides with the kids? Then these child apps for on holiday might offer the solution. Unfortunately I can’t guarantee you a smooth ride all the way of course but it should at least keep them entertained for a while.

Our all-time favourite after the “download” update is done. Netflix has a “kids only” environment, which I find quite comforting. This way I’m sure Floris and Lotte won’t see anything they’re not supposed tosee. Through the download option you’re able to download (a limited selection) of series and films. Very handy for long distance flights or rides. Please note: downloads are stored for a limited amount of time and are removed automatically.

This too is an app with series. Perhaps not the latest kids series but certainly fun ones! For me this is atrip down memory lane with shows from my past. Think of Snorkles, Alfred J. Kwak and Boes Boes. This app also has a download option, or as the app calls it; “pack your suitcase”, so your kids can watch shows when no internet is available.

puzzle app. With this app you can create puzzles of different degrees, from fairly easy to fairly difficult. What’s makes this app so much fun? You have a special option where you can upload your own photo (from your library) and turn it into a puzzle. Together with your little one you can make beautiful photo’s which you can transform into your own digital puzzle later that day. Lots of fun!

Flo and Lotte are both big Disney fans so this app hit the spot immediately! Why? You can play different games with all your favorite Disney friends: games where you dress a princess, where you place “stickers” on the landscape; where you pop balloons with your fingers and much, much more. If and when you complete a game well, you receive a prize sticker which you can use in turn for your digital scrapbook. With this app your kids will certainly be quiet for a while in the car or in the plane. A well-deserved fourth place for that reason in our TOP 5 best child apps for on holiday.

Are your kids fans of Peppa or of painting and drawing? Then this app is a must for you. When your kids open the app they can choose to paint with Peppa or George. As soon as you’ve made your choice the party starts. You can pick a colour and “paint” with your finger on the screen. But you can also collect pictures, “blow” bubbles on the screen and lots more.
