Somewhere in the world, a trip for two weeks. After searching a long while I knew it, it would be Malaysia. For us, this means areas without malaria, I search for travel distance by plane, available time to travel, climate and I look for tickets through Google flights, Skyscanner, Momondo and Kiwi. Well for starters, because there happen to be two very enthusiastic travel agents in the company building I work at. They have bundled their talents and provide you with the best advice and service. It\u2019s nice that everything is taken care of and if anything goes wrong, they will back you up. The main reason is actually very simple; I wish them lots of success and revenue. I really hope the job of travel agent isn\u2019t a dying breed. It has proven before that there isn\u2019t a lot of price difference between their calculations and mine. multiple large suitcases, mostly 4 star hotels with a few nights stay at a 3 star establishment, an extensive breakfast every morning, every hotel with a pool except for the one in the jungle and dining out every evening at a restaurant.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>We\u2019ve done several paid activities such as: a boat trip through Melaka, multiple boat trips through the jungle, visiting a jungle tribe, a trip to the moss forest and the tea plantation in a 4&#215;4 with driver, a visit to Orang Utang island, parasailing, massages and renting jet skis.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2199e49a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"2199e49a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-large\">Our route looks data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>We arrived at <strong>Kuala Lumpur<\/strong> and took the rental straight to <strong>Melaka<\/strong>. A lovely place where we laugh out loud during our hysterical trip in a trishaw. Together with our driver we sing loudly.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>We stay 2 nights and drive to the oldest rainforest of Malaysia, <strong>Taman Negara<\/strong>. The kids love staying in the jungle, between all the monkeys. We take lots of adventurous excursions.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>After 2 nights we drive on to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asia-hikes.com\/malaysia-cameron-highlands\/?fbclid=IwAR17i_EPp8sBZ3-hA4kAWclOFwByxeDFvfg6UesMx2xrIgqlqpvR5CKUePk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Cameron Highlands<\/strong><\/a> where we take a rough 4&#215;4 trip through the moss forest&nbsp;and the BOH tea plantation. We sleep here for two nights too.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>Next stop:&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Ipoh<\/strong> for 1 night. There, we visit a couple of beautiful cave temples and the Orang Utang island.&nbsp;<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>We continue our trip to the island <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/my\/golden-sands-resort-by-shangri-la.en.html?aid=1421760&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Penang<\/strong><\/a> where we relax for 5 nights in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/my\/golden-sands-resort-by-shangri-la.en.html?aid=1421760&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">luxury resort on the beach of Batu Ferringhi.<\/a> Unfortunately you can\u2019t swim here properly because of the jelly fish. We take a day trip to the nice Georgetown and we visit Kek Lok Si-temple, the largest Buddhist temple of Malaysia and we are loveing the Pinang Perankan Mansion Museum too. Of course we enjoy the many pools at the hotel. The food on the beach, the massages, playing on the jet-skis and parasailing.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>Our trip end in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/my\/furama-bukit-bintang-kuala-lumpur.en.html?aid=1421760&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Kuala Lumpur<\/strong><\/a>. Here we stay another 2 nights. A fun city where there is enough to see and do. Not the perfect start when visiting Malaysia with kids.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The travel agency in the Netherlands helped us as much as possible and filed the claim for the delayed luggage and asked the hotel for compensation. Luckily we received compensation for the new luggage afterwards too. During a round-trip you can\u2019t always expect everything to go perfectly. In the basement of the hotel there is a very hip, new play area.<\/li><li>Heli bar with platform in Kuala Lumpur during sunset. The kids watched the sunset behind the window in the bar and we went on the heli platform too. I\u2019ve listed a few per destination:<\/p><ul><li>Melaka:\u00a0<strong>Hardrock Cafe Melaka<\/strong>: Good food, nice service, the kids get colouring utilities, enough to see, often live music. When you sit outside you have a nice view along the water.<\/li><li>Taman Negara NP:<strong>\u00a0Restaurant Seri Mutiara:\u00a0<\/strong>The buffet is no highlight, don\u2019t touch it, but a la carte menu is good. Lovely sit too.<\/li><li>Cameron Highlands:\u00a0<strong>Restaurant Brasserie \u201985<\/strong>\u00a0in hotel Strawberry park.<\/li><li>Georgetown:\u00a0<strong>The Mugshot Cafe<\/strong>: Delicious pastry, good bread-rolls, good coffee and a good atmosphere. The bagels taste very nice here.<\/li><li>Romantic and good dining at the beach of Batu Ferringhi, Penang: <strong>Sigi\u2019s Bar &amp; Grill on the Beach.<\/strong><\/li><li>Batu Ferringhi, Penang:\u00a0<strong>Long Beach Cafe<\/strong>: a collection of tourists and locals. It\u2019s fun ordering food at the many stalls and all tastes nice. A bit of a food frenzy atmosphere but still good fun.
